On Christmas Day, for the 49th year, we will open our doors to welcome the community, creating space for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together, share a meal, and experience connection. Whether in person at 97 S. Franklin Street or through a meal delivered with care, Christmas Together is built on the belief that no one should feel alone during the holidays.
For nearly five decades, this tradition has brought people together around one table, rooted in care, carried by community.
Our Story
Christmas Together is a longstanding community tradition rooted in care, connection, and generosity. For decades, volunteers have come together to share a warm meal and meaningful companionship with neighbors across Wilkes-Barre on Christmas Day.
In recent years, Gather Community Space has stepped into a leading role in helping carry this tradition forward. Now in our second year of active planning and coordination, we are honored to support and grow this effort alongside dedicated volunteers, community partners, and First Presbyterian Church.
Together, we work to ensure that this tradition continues to evolve while staying true to its heart, creating a space where everyone is welcomed, nourished, and reminded that they are part of a community that cares.
Christmas Together Planning Committee
The Christmas Together Planning Committee is a dedicated group of volunteers and community partners who work collaboratively to organize and carry forward one of our community’s longest-standing traditions. From coordinating meals and volunteers to ensuring a welcoming experience for all, the committee helps bring this day of connection, care, and togetherness to life each year.
